Take your measurements
During your first appointment with one of our The Kitchen Family designers, you will start by defining and validating the style you want to give to your new kitchen. Despite a wide choice, this step is simple since it does not take into account any technical aspect.
Once the model has been selected, we will start together the realization of your project in 3D thanks to our computer software. For this, our kitchen experts must have a plan of your room. This side plan can come from an architect (mainly concerning new housing) or be produced by you on a simple sheet of paper.
Don't worry if your measurements aren't accurate to the millimeter.
Before placing your order, your designer will appoint an installer to carry out a check of the measurements that you had transmitted.
How to measure your plan at home? The realization of a plan is carried out in two stages:
1. I take the measurements of my kitchen:
Trace the outline of your room on a large sheet so that you can write down all the information you can.
Place the wall returns, any recesses, windows and doors.
Information to specify:
-
room dimensions (length / width / height),
-
dimensions and location of doors,
-
dimensions and location of windows, including height under frame,
-
possible obstacles (wall recess, beam including height under beam, etc.).
2. I complete my plan with important details:
The second step consists in noting the technical points such as the water inlets and the electrical elements. You can enter them directly on your plan or zoom in as in the example below:
The technical elements are:
-
Water inlets: note whether they are fixed or movable.
-
The arrival of electrical elements (such as sockets and switches): specify whether these elements can be moved or not.
-
Piping :
- Water inlet / outlet (fixed / movable)
- Gas inlet (fixed / movable)
- Electrical arrivals (fixed / movable)
- Piping (exposed / embedded)
